Project 004

Raw minimalism, bold presence. This reimagined octagonal sports watch by Alter Geneva elevates the very essence of brutalist design. Polished angles, contrasting textures, and deep black tones merge to create a timeless aesthetic. Every detail, meticulously conceived and executed, reflects Swiss watchmaking expertise while pushing its boundaries.
The Brutalist essence
This creation strips away excess to embrace pure form. Clean lines, sandblasted finishes, and striking black contrasts give the piece a monolithic presence. Like raw concrete shaped by light, each surface plays with shadows and reflections. This architectural influence defines a design where strength and minimalism converge in a bold statement.

The owner of this personal timepiece is an architect with a deep admiration for brutalist design, particularly the work of Marcel Breuer. His intention was to create a watch that would embody his architectural vision. His brief was unequivocal: a sculptural piece defined by sharp contrasts, where every detail evokes the raw strength of materials, echoing the bold, elemental forms he brings to life in his own practice.
Mastering Light and Shadow
The black DLC coating on the bezel and screws enhances scratch and impact resistance while amplifying the contrast with the sandblasted case. This textured finish, combined with polished angles, elevates the structure by alternating matte surfaces and subtle reflections. The hands and indices, hand-painted in black and accented with white Super-LumiNova, ensure optimal legibility.

very modification is executed in our Swiss workshops to the highest standards of watchmaking, guaranteeing durability and uncompromising precision.
