Project Phases
Design
We start with your ideas and define the design direction and technical possibilities. Different options are developed and refined with you, allowing the design, budget and timeline to be adjusted before production begins.
Transformation
Once the design is approved, our watchmakers and specialist artisans bring the project to life in Switzerland, working on each component according to its specific requirements.
Final Assembly
The watch is carefully assembled and serviced, then undergoes final aesthetic and functional checks. Each customized watch is delivered with an Alter certificate and our warranty covering the work we perform.
Secure & Insured Transport
We arrange the secure collection and return of your watch, including insured transport and all required customs formalities. If any shipping, insurance or customs costs apply, they are confirmed with you in advance.
Designed With You
Before production begins, realistic visual proposals allow you to explore different colors, materials, finishes and details. We refine the design with you until every choice is defined and its technical feasibility has been confirmed.
Techniques & Finishes
Depending on the project, we work with surface treatments, brushing, satin finishing and sandblasting, as well as engraving, enameling, painting and stone setting. Dials, cases, bezels, bracelets, hands and other components can be reworked or custom-made to achieve the final design.
Service & Decustomization
In addition to customization, we service, repair and restore watches. Most modifications are reversible, and when an original component would otherwise be permanently altered, we can preserve it and manufacture a new one for the customization. We can also reverse work carried out by Alter or another workshop and return the watch to its original configuration, with the same precision and respect as a brand service.
