This project explores how a single handcrafted finish can transform a set of three iconic bracelets. Individually hand hammered, each piece develops its own texture and reflections while remaining faithful to its original design.
The Owner’s Vision
The three bracelets had been worn daily for years and showed significant signs of wear. Rather than returning them to their original condition, the owner chose a different approach. We proposed a hand hammered finish that gave each piece a new texture and a distinct character.
Hand-made Hammering Finish
Using a fine tipped diamond hammering tool, our jeweler textured the gold surface by hand. Inspired by the Florentine hammering technique, the finish is created through thousands of controlled impacts. Each strike is carefully calibrated to preserve the original geometry while creating a uniform texture across the bracelet, allowing the gold to interact differently with light from every angle.
The Restoration Process
Before the hammering process, each bracelet was carefully restored in our Swiss workshops. Surface wear was removed to create a perfectly uniform base for the new finish, while the screw motifs were protected throughout the intervention to preserve the original design.
