This yellow gold sports watch was reimagined around a moon and leaves motif chosen by its owner. The custom dial introduces a graphic element, while the black DLC treatment gives the exterior a more contemporary character.
The Owner’s Vision
The owner wanted the dial to reflect a personal meaning. Our design team developed a moon and leaves motif from his description. As the original yellow gold finish no longer suited his style, he chose a black treatment to give the watch a more contemporary character.
Custom Components
Based on the motif requested by the owner, our design team developed several sketches before adapting the composition to the dial. A matte black grained base creates depth, while the yellow moon becomes the focal point of the design.
Dial Craftsmanship
The dial maker first machined the base to create its fine grained texture, then applied the black finish in thin spray coats. The motif, indexes, and logo were added through successive decal transfers, while the hands were individually painted with pigments mixed to match the dial.
Black DLC Coating
The yellow gold case, bezel, and clasp were coated in black DLC, paired with a black rubber strap. This coating technique provides high resistance to wear while preserving the underlying finishes. The white numerals on the 24 hour bezel were painted by hand after coating to maintain legibility.
